Different Types of Wig Caps

Updated: Feb 22

1. Traditional Cap:

Fully wefted cap with a closed crown. This design is best for those looking to add volume at the crown.

2. Open Cap:

Fully wefted cap with open panels in the crown for superior ventilation. This lightweight cap design provides maximum scalp cooling.

3.Monofilament:

Allows multi-directional parting, giving the appearance of natural growth. The exclusive Libra Wig’s double monofilament design adds a secondary shear silk-like layer offering the wearer superior comfort.

4.Lace Top/Open Cap:

Combines the benefits of a natural hairline and superior ventilation for cooling and comfort.

· Lace Front/100% Hand Tied: the lace front provides a natural hairline, while the hand tied design mimics natural hair growth and movement throughout the wig. The hand tied structure also provides a unique 4” stretch section for ultimate comfort.

· Monofilament/100% Hand Tied: while the monofilament design allows multi-directional parting, the hand tied area mimics natural hair growth and provides movement throughout. Similar to the previous design, the hand tied area provides a 4” stretch for ultimate comfort.

5. Silk Base Cap:

A Silk Base Wig also known as a Silk Top Wig are when the knots are hidden by a layer of lace, and silk fabric on the top front of the cap. When the hair is knotted, the knots are below the silk concealed between these layers, the hair is then injected through the silk material making the knots 100% invisible, giving the illusion that the hair is actually growing out of your scalp. With these wigs, there is no need to hide the grids of the lace and we also bleach the knots around the silk base for a flawless blend from lace to silk .
